Our Philosophy

Maui Food Snob aims to provide a trusted source of personally curated food and drink vendors for the enjoyment of island visitors and residents alike. To qualify for inclusion on Freddie's list of favorites (or “Fredslist,” as we’ve taken to calling it), a vendor must satisfy three principal criteria:

(1) aloha-inspired service and atmosphere;

(2) exceptional value/quality of meal for the price; and

(3) outstanding, *broke da mouth* flavor and ingredients that nourish the mouth, belly and SOUL.

To maintain the integrity of our recommendations, Freddie and the team accept no payment or compensation whatsoever in exchange for vendors' inclusion on Freddie's List. However, we do offer a promotional service package for vendors who wish to partner with Maui Food Snob to build their presence on the Maui food scene. Freddie’s Story

Freddie is a man of eclectic tastes, who loves to share his food recommendations. After sampling over a hundred different Maui eatery options over the years, he had compiled quite the collection of personal food recs. He would go to parties and find himself making food recommendations to practically everyone he met. Then one day, a friend offered to pay him for his list. That's when Freddie began to look into sharing his local food expertise in a more organized way. One by one, he recruited a small but brilliant team of dedicated supporters... and voila! Maui Food Snob was born.

Since that time, Freddie has made it his ongoing mission to promote food-awareness among island residents and visitors, and to discover not only the most flavorful and nourishing cuisine, but also the most sustainably oriented and aloha-driven culinary establishments that Maui has to offer.
