Stewz Burgers (Lower Kula)

Stewz is a family-owned food truck with an understated presence in the Longs Drugs food court in Lower Kula, just above Makawao. All their seasonal veggies are locally sourced, which makes for exceptional flavor all the way around. Freddie recommends the Hana or Kula Burger with a side of onion rings, depending whether or not you like your Maui Cattle beef burger wrapped in bacon. (Sliced jalapeño peppers in the Kula Burger bring the perfect balance of flavors for those who appreciate a subtle kick of spice.) From the very first bite, you'll know this is one of those burgers that has been truly *crafted* with attention to every ingredient—and yet the whole somehow manages to be even more satisfying than the sum of its parts.

Oh and don't be deterred by the lack of Google reviews. Stewz Kula is a relatively undiscovered gem, and quite possibly the best $10 you could spend on lunch upcountry!
